How I Got My Underarm Cleared And Somewhat Whiten

$
0
0

It's common for a girl to want to have smooth, hairless, fair underarms. Reason being, it's easier to go sleeveless anytime (with weather like Malaysia, I think it make sense), it's less irritating as it itches less, and it's easier to control odour. Additionally for me, recently, I have been having some ingrown hair issues from all the epilating and quick shaving (because sometimes I needed a quick, no pain solution especially after a long time not epilating.) It has made my underarms looking rather unpleasant. I guess this came pretty timely because I was somewhat researching on places to do IPL treatments. Though, bear in mind that IDO's Sumuzu Hair Removal Treatment is not IPL treatment.

I was approached by Ido's at the end of December 2015 to try out their latest and one of the greatest technologies from Japan. The word Sumuzu means smooth in Japanese and listed a long promising list of the advantages of Sumuzu Hair Removal treatment, you can read them as below:

3 Features
Excellent result
Durable result
No side effects

4 Guarantee
Safety
Fast
Effectiveness
Money back

5 Benefits
Painless
Whitening
Firming
Anti-Odour
Reasonable price

Of course, we should always just take these promotional promises with a pinch of salt and I'm looking to work on my underarm hair, so why not try it out especially when they are totally okay with me going to their Botanic Klang outlet. Hallelujah, I love it when my reviews are in Klang.

As stated on the flyer, it uses phototherapy of narrow range of wavelength that delivers energy to selectively heat up the dark melanin of the hair follicles, damaging the hair follicles without causing major injury to the surrounding tissue.

So I was given 3 treatments, once a month. So here's my journey:

1st Treatment (January)
The place was easy to find cause it's hard to miss the big Ido's sign just opposite Aeon Bukit Tinggi. Parking was fantastic cause for some reason, particularly that row is not usually pack with people. They have 2 entrance, went in to the wrong one (watch my video at the end, you'll know what I mean), so walk out and walk in next door. Spoke to the PR person a bit and sign some papers. I was led to a treatment room and changed my top.

Now, before I actually agreed to this treatment, I did some research and nothing much came up but pretty much most of it said that it's painless. So I was totally ready for an absolutely relaxing treatment. Then the PR lady say it may feel bit stinging at the bones area, I was like okay cool, should be no problem cause I did pretty decent number of treatments in the past that were painful as crap and still got through it like a freaking heroin.

Also, before the treatment started, they had to shave for me because I didn't know I had to shave first. Then, they applied a cooling gel to protect the skin so the applicator does not have direct contact to the surface of the skin. And then shit got real, just as the process started, I got a shock because it was quite painful! Walau, I had to consciously tell myself to bear with it just for a few minutes, it felt like a work out. I told the therapist and she say it's because my hairs are really thick and dark thus it can be a bit painful. I was like =_=... what happen to painless? But it totally make sense because it did say that Sumuzu burns the dark melanin, it's different with each case, it's just unfortunate that mine is crazy thick and dark.

Less than 10 minutes (even though it felt like forever), I was done. Omgosh, I was so happy it was over. One thing for sure, the treatment was really quick!

The machine that made my armpit clear from hair.

Applying cooling gel

My first treatment was quite painful...

2nd Treatment (February)
One month after my first treatment, I was kinda dreading to walk in for my second treatment cause of my experience from my first treatment BUT I also was super excited cause I could actually see the difference even from the first treatment itself.

After the first treatment, allow the remaining hair to grow out on its own and shave them off. Slowly, I realise that there were not much hair growing and looking pretty smooth after all the remaining hair grew out. Additionally, the red spots have the change to properly heal! I was AMAZED! (Watch the video at the end and you will understand why)

For the second treatment, I was smarter already, I shaved the day before. Just before the treatment process started, I was so ready to endure the pain. 3, 2, 1... *Applicator touched the skin* Ehh... It wasn't painful at all. OMGOSH, IT WASN'T PAINFUL AT ALL, IT WAS TRULY PAINLESS. It caught me by surprised. I told the lady and she said it's because I have less dark melanin now, so it doesn't hurt.

After 5 minutes, I was done. Walked out of the place with all smiles.

3rd Treatment (March)
After the second treatment, I was so proud with my smooth and handsome underarms. It's literally whiten and red spots are totally gone. Only a few strands of hair grew occasionally but it's the super thin and soft type of hair. It's pretty much invisible. I was so happy the treatment worked so well and my armpits feel so comfortable.

Went in for my 3rd treatment, feeling rather sad because it's my last treatment. Similarly to my 2nd treatment, it was completely painless unless the therapist leave the applicator on the skin too long, it might feel a bit hot. Within 5 minutes, I was done and out.

So far after 2 weeks, it's still treating me quite well, somewhat bald still with the occasional thin strands of hair growing that's pretty much unnoticeable. I think it may only last for a total of 4 weeks before the bulb or hair follicle grows again.

As you can see, red spots cleared, skin whiten and smoothen!

Price: RM300-RM900

Though, I asked specifically for underarms and I believe it's RM300 for underarm. I believe they have promotions, thus, go ask for it on their Facebook or visit an outlet near you.

The Leftover Woman and The Marriage Market

$

I have no idea that such thing still exist in this world. I knew it was once a big thing for women to stay single pass 25 years old but to understand that there are woman out there who still suffers from this stereotype is truly an eye opening experience.

Watch the heart breaking video here:

Last year, International Prestige Skincare Brand SK-ll, launched #changedestiny – an ongoing global campaign to inspire and empower women to shape their own destiny. In keeping with this theme, they are now premiering the film ”Marriage Market Takeover”, putting a spotlight on the real-life issue of Chinese women being pressured to get married before they turn 25. In it, a number of brave Chinese women have daringly chosen to speak their mind about one of the most controversial subjects in recent Chinese history, the ”Sheng Nu” label.

According to The New York Times, the term was made popular by the All-China Women's Federation in 2007 and translates to ”leftover woman”. As has been reported by the BBC, The New York Times and China Daily, the term has been used to denounce women who, regardless of the reason, want to wait with marriage – women who simply want to marry for love.

With this campaign, SK-II is taking a positive approach in helping these women face the pressure and the film shows the marriage market in Shanghai’s People’s Park being taken over. A huge and beautiful installation was made with SK-II’s own ”marriage ads” that were in fact not ads but messages from hundreds of independent women, stating that they want to be in control of their own destiny. By doing so, a platform was created from where the women could voice their thoughts.

Good Job SK-II. I'm extremely proud!

How Laser Removal Treatment Looks Like In Slow Motion...

I came across this video by Veritasium on YouTube and they love talking about daily stuff and explaining them in a more scientific term, which to be honest, is already super interesting but wait, they like going further by capturing everything up close and in slow-mo. WHATTT. That's just freaking amazing.

This particular segment talks about how Laser Hair Removal actually works and ohmygosh, I almost felt the sting while watching how the laser burns his hair off. There were smoke everywhere!

It's really cool to have the opportunity to watch something magnificent like this but it definitely make me thick twice about trying laser hair removal treatment. Lols. Thank God there are other treatments such as IDO's Sumuzu Hair Removal (which I tried and reviewed) and IPL.

Thanks Veritasium team for coming up with amazing contents! Support from me all the way!

It took us about 4-5 days for it to start peeling and it was shedding for at least 4 days after, depending on how fast you peel them off. During these shedding days, please wear socks and shoes to cover it up cause it’s pretty scary to some people.

You can get BabyFoot pack at:

Zenki Sushi, Bukit Tinggi Klang

$

I've always passed by this shop at Bukit Tinggi and have always wondered if it's any good even though I'm not much of Japanese foodie. I'm not the biggest fan of sushi and or sashimi, most of the time I'll just order their cooked chicken with teriyaki sauce, udon and gyoza, which I do like. So, I've decided to give it a try with my brother and mom when we wanted sometime different than our usual Chinese and western dishes.

By the way, this won't be an in-depth review of each dishes that we've order. I guess this blog post is going to be a short one with me giving my overall opinion.

When it comes to sushi, I can't give any opinions as I did not even touch them that night. Even if I do, I won't even know how to tell if it's good or not. To me, they look pretty similar to all the other sushi I've seen, RICE, RICE and more RICE! Lols, sorry, truly, that all I see. Don't get me wrong, I love rice but just not a big fan of Japanese sushi. Though, I'm super in love with seaweed sushi, the ones with vegetables and some chicken floss in them.

Wakatori Don with Garlic Fried Rice. Basically fried chicken with garlic rice that's really not too bad. It's also in a decent portion.

I usually will never miss ordering Gyoza in a Japanese restaurant. I think the gyoza taste alright but the sauce seem to be lacking something. Most Japanese restaurant will give the sauce a little twist by adding some kind of garnish to add some kind of flavour to it, which in my opinion do make quite a difference in the whole gyoza eating experience.

Kake Udon... Omgosh, the soup is pretty delicious. It's light and really easy to drink, yet super addictive. Udon texture is average, I've tasted better.

Price wise, I think it's pretty common and okay for Klang peeps. Overall the service was good and the place was quite decent. The food was alright, not the best, mainly cause I've tried better and truly authentic Japanese dishes before, but this is good enough for those craving for some Japanese cuisine and too lazy to go anywhere far or too lazy to get into Aeon Bukit Tinggi Mall for Sakae Sushi, that might even be packed with people. Quite easy to get parking around this block and free parking after 6pm and weekends. Plus, NO SERVICE CHARGE AND TAX!

A Night Full Of Makeup And Lashes

I think I'm in the midst of a series of stressful weeks and months, trying to finish up my assignments and thesis as soon as possible. To destress, I usually either play with makeup or play with food. I've been just having fun with shadows and trying out lashes that I never used because I'm too lazy to stick them on when I'm out. I used to wear them for part time modelling and since I was already in makeup, might as well do some self photoshoot to practise my posing skills just for fun.

Love you all loads!

A Good Night Street Snack At Bukit Tinggi Klang

$
0
0

One fine day, after a good jog with my Fiancé, we'll usually find something light to eat instead of going all out like we used to. Again, he'll bring me to places nearby to eat that I've never tried before. It's not that I've never eat Lok Lok or FAT ONE BBQ Food Truck before but I've just never stop by the one in Bukit Tinggi that, yet again, I've passed by ample times but never stopped to taste them.

A rough count, there are probably around 30-40 choices of food on skewers, each ranging from RM1.40-RM3.70. As usual, you identify how much each cost by checking the colour marked at the end of the skewers.

Red - RM1.40
No Colour - RM2.20
Blue - RM3.20
Green - RM3.70

It's common to have two types of soup based, clear and spicy, accompanied with various types of sauces to top it off just before eating. Take a stick and dip them into the pool of boiling broth of your choice and allow it to sit there for a short few minutes, letting it cook through. Take it out once you feel it's done. No surprise, I knew very well what I want, it's usually quill's eggs and tau kee (fried bean curd) for soup.

As for the barbecue and somewhat fried part, how can you not have some bak kua tasting meet, pork belly and bacon! Oi... it's soooo good...

If you are thirsty, just beside the food truck, there will be another truck selling drinks and desserts.

Don't throw the sticks after eating them, you'll have to gather your sticks, pass to the owner for payment. He'll count the sticks like a pro.

And well, no surprise that this truck attracts people because it's such a heavenly simple street food that's quick and easy. Though, I'm still not changing my mind that these kind of Lok Lok trucks are kinda overpriced. I think we had about 6-7 sticks and it's already RM16-ish. If you are a heavy eater, seriously, please go have a good, proper meal. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful snack if you are looking for something light.

FAT ONE BBQ Steamboat Food Truck, Bukit Tinggi Klang
(Always parked outside RHB Islamic Bank and Berjaya Sompo Insurance)
I believe only starts business around 6pm onwards. Maybe later but mostly at nights.

Adidas Climacool Deodorant Is Pretty Amazing!

$

I was at this event last year and got a bunch of these as my new deodorant. It's known as the best long-lasting deodorant by Cleo Singapore and it didn't really hit me until recently of how much I do like this.

This anti-perspirant spray is athlete-tested. They claim to have advanced capsules in its formula that aren't just citrus-scented (which I absolutely love), they are also activated by friction, sweat and humidity. WHART?!

When you move, the capsules break, releasing a burst of freshness. Which means, the harder you work, the better this deodorant performs. Geezzz, how cool is that!

Of course, when we are there at Avenue K Rooftop, we'll have to take some random pictures with Malaysia's famous Twin Towers!

Dexter and I!

Celine and Matt! T'was a fun double date!

They have in a spray (150ml) and roll-on (50ml) version for men and women. Of course, my fiancé loves them too. He likes the female version too and kept one spray in his car for us to refresh ourselves whenever needed. Glad I finally put this to good use!

Adidas Climacool Women Deodorant Spray - RM15.90
Adidas Climacool Women Roll-on - RM8.90
Adidas Climacool Men Deodorant Spray - RM19.90
Adidas Climacool Men Roll-on - RM8.90

Available in most hypermarket, supermarket, pharmacies and etc. You know, the usual places. Try checking out stores like Watsons as they may have some discounts going on.

Time Is What You Do With It.

I always knew CAT watches as one of those handsome tough time telling tool that looks amazing on men with good body built or men who want something that's durable. Caterpiller develops innovative and new high technology for its products including the stylish CAT timekeeping equipment products for active people. Constructed from the highest quality materials, CAT watches are developed to meet stringent requirements, without compromises.

Each CAT watch encompasses cutting edge design and high functionality to offer a solid performance in a variety of active situations. Great for adventurous person and it has a great emphasis being attached to the casual and powerful design of the watch.

Reliability, Quality, Durability, and Technology. Every CAT watch purchased comes with a cool toolbox looking box.

Watch the Tough Test!

The Head of Caterpillar Timekeeping Equipment, Mr. Olivier Jeanbouquin was kind enough to introduce me to some of the latest collection and model. Also, at the same time, help me wear them on. What a gentleman.

Going through their website, I believe they do not name their watches in some fancy names. Instead, they they number them. For example, the amazing one that I've selected is the PU.161.64.111 under the DP Sport EVO collection. It's stainless steel with a nylon fabric feel strap and it's water resistance of 100m.

It's quite big and heavy for my arms but if I pair them up with some street style looking outfit, I'm sure it will work perfectly fine. Then again, I've decided to gift them to my younger brother because I believe it looks better on him.

Yes, I absolutely do love their new campaign. It's true, time is really what you do with it. It's all about choices because we all have the same amount of time. Be wise and prioritise, not everything is as urgent as you think it is. Sometimes, it's out of our control, let go and let God do the impossible while we focus on the things that we can do.

Elianto Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick [Review]

$
0
0

I've actually received this quite some time ago but I've only recently have the opportunity to really put them to the test. They look beautiful with the sleek packaging and this collection offers the simplest of all options. Just apply, glide and go. It's German-made and wax-based formula. Comes with a in-built sharpener (YES!) and contains jojoba oil, dermatologically and ophthamologically approved, mineral oil free, paraffin free, paraben free and preservatives free. Sounds pretty amazing isn't it. Read on further to see more and if I like it or not.

First up, it claims to be long lasting with a texture that allows effortless smooth blending. Also, it claims to be waterproof and smudge-proof with a cream-to-powder compound that remains feather light on the lids.

To me, it doesn't feel very much of a smudge proof cause it kinda smudges on me a little after wearing them for a couple of hours, especially on the bottom part of the eyes. I believe it's due to its really creamy consistency that is really nice to blend with. In fact, quite effortless actually. It does feel light on the lids but even thought it does feel like cream-to-powder texture, I still highly suggest to apply some sort as a eye shadow base and apply some powder on top of it just to prevent the tiniest bit of smudging.

Of course, can't deny that it's super convenient and travel friendly. The colour can be blended out or even build on. All 6 shades are really extremely beautiful with slight shimmer to it. In the photo it looks matte but trust me, they have obvious shimmers in them in person.

It's a little messy to sharpen them but well, no complains because it's better than without an in-built sharpener. If you don't sharpen it you won't get a precise line or use it as an eyeliner. It's that simple.

Available in shades of white, brown, blue, navy, purple and black at RM31.90 for 1.4g at all Elianto stores. For more information, visit www.elianto.biz.

My Stay With TrupCotel In KL!

$

0

I was invited by TrupCotel to review one of their service apartment last month and I stayed at the Mercu Summer Suites KL, Malaysia. It was definitely a long needed break and at the same time, I needed a place to shoot a few of my YouTube videos that I personally don't think my current house is conducive for me to get them done. Also, aside from that, if you are wondering, this is the place where I got engaged!

So many people asked Dexter and I where did we took our "Engagement Photo" where we had the beautiful KL Tower as our background. It was self shoot with timer at the balcony of this apartment. Dexter was sneaking enough to pick my work + holiday days to propose to me when he found out that the apartment had quite a view while shooting our #TehChamLee 3-Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake video. :D :D :D

Engagement story will be in another blogpost, coming back to TrupCotel, they are a one-stop property to tenant matching service that aims to ease the rental process for young executives. They provide rentals with a minimum length of lease of 1 week with no additional payments and no 3 months upfront deposit needed. You can rent fully furnished apartments with one price that includes monthly rent, utilities, free WiFi, free weekly housekeeping and access to building facilities.

Here's a tour of the apartment!

Well, at least the one I stayed in is really all in good condition. No rusty cutleries and crockery, clean, fresh sheets and towels, cozy apartment, amazing air condition and free WiFi!

My Personal Experience

Booking my Stay
I have to admit, after visiting the website, it was a little bit tough to figuring out how to actually book this place. Apparently, I had to send them a request of the dates I'm planning to stay. That's after signing up for TrupCotel. Then, they sent me an email stating that I have a match. They will match you to the closes choice from the request form I've filled in earlier. It took about 24 hours for them to get back to me with the match. Then, if you are okay with the location and place they have matched you, you'll reply their email and ask to confirm and for further process of payment and etc. At the end of it, they will send you a booking confirmation and a "welcome pack" in PDF to welcome you and to inform you of the rules and T&C.

Getting the Keys
Here's the part where you should pay attention. I got a text earlier the day I'm suppose to check-in. Check-in time was stated 12pm and I replied that I will be reaching only at 1pm or 1.30pm. I went to the lobby of Mercu Summer Suites, thinking that it was the common way of checking in through the counter. It's not. So I called the TrupCotel person and had to wait for the TrupCotel person to arrive (didn't waited very long, around 10 minutes) to get my keys to the apartment. The guy was kind enough to lead me to the apartment and show me some of the details of the place eg: WiFi details and etc. He also informed me that if I can't pass the key to him during check-out, just drop the keys to the letter box behind the lobby area (he showed me which letter box to drop the keys).

The Apartment
It's neat, cozy, and seriously amazing air conditioning. WiFi is working well, beds are clean and comfortable, even the sofa is quite comfy. I'm glad all their kitchenware are all almost new looking, I can't stand it when they are rusty looking and expect me to use them. So thumbs up for having good kitchenware. They even prepared some of the cleaning detergents as well as clothes detergent if you needed to wash your clothes. And omgosh, toothpaste, yup, a really nice touch for that as it really gives you somewhat a complete feel. The view, well, overall it really nice but there's a construction going on on the right if you look outside the balcony, which is quite a sore eye during the day but it's not their fault that it's there. Other than that, of course the amazing KL Tower can be seen from the living room and the master bedroom.

Building Facilities
Well, they have a nice looking pool area that was filled with non-Malaysians sun bathing and swimming during the weekends. Clearly, I was only there to take pictures and videos to show you how they look like. Lols. I was just too busy with my video shooting throughout the stay. Also, they have a gym that's quite cool actually and a pool/snooker table. Also, if you needed anything quick, they have an amazing MyNews store at the lobby that's filled with all kinds of food, beverages and etc.

Check-out and Parking Drama
Their usual check out time is 10am, which seriously, who checks out at 10am, I'm probably still asleep. I requested a late check out time and was granted to stay till 2pm. Yeay! But the TrupCotel guy still came at 10am to ask about check out. =_= Anyway, it was all cool. So I ended up leaving the place at 2pm and dropped the keys into the letter box as mentioned earlier. As for parking, apparently they count by sessions and not per entry. I thought it was RM5 per entry. This is how you calculate:

Day 1: 7am - 6.59pm (1 session) + 7pm - 6.59am (1 session) = RM5 + RM5 = RM10
Day 2: 7am - 6.59pm (1 session) + 7pm - 6.59am (1 session) = RM5 + RM5 = RM10
Day 3: 7am - 6.59pm (1 session)  = RM5
Grand Total = RM10 + RM10 + RM5 = RM25

Trust me, I got a shock in my life when I put in my parking ticket. Then they explained to me the whole session thing, it digested better. I wasn't sure if they have free parking for tenants, I didn't ask cause I thought it's only natural to have parking available and waived but apparently not. I highly suggest you to check with the person you are emailing with if you need a parking spot.

KOSE Sekkisei White BB Cream [Review]

$
0
0

KOSE is famous for their sekkisei lotion, which is a whitening kinda toner that doesn't really work well on my skin. To be honest, most of KOSE products doesn't work well on my skin. I personally think it's some of the ingredients in KOSE that my skin can't seem to tolerate. Though, I still do use the sekkisei lotion as a mask but rarely, probably about once every 3 months. It's pretty much till almost never because the lotion is really strong in scent and does sting my skin a little. Of course, I'm hoping it to be different for the BB cream.

It claims to hide blemishes and give a natural coverage. Brighten skin and is light in weight. Long-lasting, hydrating and cares for skin with oriental plant extracts as well as sunscreen properties.

To me, yes, it brightens skin and gives a really natural, light coverage. No, it's too light-weighted to hide big blemishes, just like most thin consistency BB creams or foundations do. It smooths out really nicely and the sekkisei scent to this is pretty distinct. Love the tip of the tube, it helps to keep me from squeezing too much out.

Personally, I do feel it's a little too drying for me. Comparatively to other BB creams, this is one of those unique cream that doesn't leave a dewy finish to my face, which is not something I prefer because my skin is on the dryer side of the chart. However, those with oily skin peeps will love this if you don't have a super sensitive skin. Reason being, this BB cream actually do sting my skin a little when using, and my skin do feel a little tight. So I'm planning to give this away to friends who want it cause I'm just not a big fan of this.

KOSE Sekkisei White BB Cream SPF40 PA+++ comes in 2 shades and available at a price of RM105 (not including GST) for 30g in all KOSE counters.

Hits & Misses: Sorabee Balancing Line + BB Cream [Review]

I was on a hiatus last week due to my assignment dues and thesis proposal presentation. It was quite a week. Though, I'm back with a one brand hits and misses post, this time reviewing the Sorabee Balancing Line skin care and the Sorabee Perfecting BB Cream. I've been using most of these products for a good month or more now and here's what I think about them.

A brief of the Sorabee Balancing Line skincare, it aims to rebalance sebum control, smooth and even out skin texture, and provide a day-long shine-free complexion. I believe all of the products in this line have sea star collagen ingredient in it and they say it's suitable for people with acne skin, huge visible pores, oily and combination skin type. I have dry skin, so let's see how this works out. I'm usually a bit weary about products that are inspired by the sea because the products are commonly gel in texture that leaves me feeling uncomfortable, itchy and sometimes even cause my skin's rashes to reappear, for example, I can't use Biotherm because of the ingredients. It's really unfortunate because I really wanted to like it due to Leighton Meester being the ambassador of the brand. Oh well, this really just proves that skincare is a really personal thing.

Let's start with my ultimate favourite, Sorabee Balancing SS Mask Sheet (20g x 10 packs, RM100.70). It has collagen properties in it as well as providing an intensive moisturising and soothing care to the skin. It looks like a regular cotton sheet mask with heaps of glorious liquid soaking the mask that's to be transferred to your skin. It does sting a little when first apply on, the stinging goes off after a few minutes which I take it as pretty normal for my skin type. The magic with this mask is that it doesn't seem to dry off. I left it on for 30 minutes, it's still damp. Left it on for 45 minutes and it's still quite wet. It's really interesting. After taking them off, I will usually wipe the leftover "juice" all over my body. My face feels amazing, thoroughly moisturised. Sleeping after doing this mask feels great, waking up from the night before feels fantastic. It is so good that I usually go straight to only applying a moisturiser after masking just to lock all the goodness in. This is a yes from me!

The Sorabee Balancing (30ml, RM121.90) is one of those product that I've tried once and chuck it aside. Before I go all out on why I'm not a big fan of this, let's see what it claims. It says to be suitable for dry skin and will help to reduces pores as well as enhances skin metabolism. It comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a decent dropper. Still, I think it's because I was trying out an essence that was working really well for me that pretty much made it impossible for me to convert to this. It just didn't do much for me, it has a really hydrating scent that's quite delightful as all of the other products in this series, it just didn't do anything for me. Though, if you are new to the whole essence routine and looking for something that can possibly help you with your skin maintenance, this could be good for you. It's just a miss for me.

The Sorabee Aqua Cream (70g, RM106) is super popular due to the nature of the product, the cream literally turns into water droplets before getting absorbed into the skin. I have to say I was quite sceptical because I thought it wasn't going to be moisturising enough for me but I tried it over the counter personally to decide if I want to review this product and I was quite impressed. It was actually really moisturising for a cream turn water product. Nothing fantastic about the packaging, just a regular tube. This product do really hydrates but for my dry skin, I have to apply quite generously to satisfy my skin. It claims that it also works as a spot serum that helps acne skin with anti-inflammatory and reduce visible acne scars but I can't vouch for that though, this moisturiser do have some kind of soothing properties that might help to calm the volcanic action on the skin. I would't say that this is the best moisturiser that I have used but it's good enough for me to make it into my should-try list.

So, apparently this Sorabee Perfecting BB Cream (150g, RM90.10) also features collagen extracts from starfish to rejuvenate and provide the elasticity your skin needs. It's also enriched with deep sea water and ocean plankton extracts to keep skin firm and moisturised - see what I mean, so much ocean stuff, I scared. False alarm though, to my surprise, it wasn't really too bad. It's moisturising and covers pretty well for a BB cream. It also gives a brightening effect that's really helpful during those super dull face days. It's really thick in consistency, which I do like it but I have to really prep my skin properly before I use this.

SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence [Review]

I have been testing this out since March and even have my skin checked before and after to see how it improves my skin. I do have the full intention to stick to both these products till the day I do my "After" skin check but unfortunately one of these products just didn't really work out for me. With these new releases, it's truly a love-hate relationship.

First of all, I will have to applaud the beautiful yet simple packaging of the GenOptics range. It's sturdy, classy, very complimentary to any girls' vanity. Just like most SK-II products, it has a luxurious feel to it.

SK-II GenOptics is a new skincare series that targets current and hidden spots and darkening caused by UV, hoping to give you a radiant aura for years to come. It says to empower women in their 20s to maintain their radiance. Of course, it's always better to start young. Even if you don't see them now, it doesn't mean that they are not there. There are a lot of hidden spots, hidden darkness, and issues that are just waiting to surface if it's not properly taken care off. When the time comes for it to appear, it won't be an easy deal to rid it off.

Of course, sunscreen still plays a huge role in prevention but sometimes, when you are out all day, you'll never know when your sunscreen wears off. They always suggest us to reapply but really, how many of us actually do that especially when we have makeup on? Thus, this is the next step of prevention.

Let's talk about my favourite product, the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence. It contains an infusion of Prunus extract and Pitera, and said to be able to provide visible improvement in skin tone and significant reduction in age spots. Well, I love it. Even without the chart to tell me how much my skin have improved, I truly do like it a lot because it's one of the very few essence that actually provides moisture as well as great luminosity to my skin after application. It feels really nice on my skin. After two weeks of using it, I can already feel my skin's radiance is improving. The product smell delightful but not overpowering, it's very soothing with a destress feels. The dropper is there for you to use the "appropriate" amount of products but really to me, I feel my face is smaller, a full drop is a little too much to handle. So I stick to a few drops.

Price: 30ml - RM555 | 50ml - RM790 | 75ml - RM1,110

The GenOptics Spot Essence is the one that I can't seem to get my hands reaching for it. This latest spot reducing serum created with a new formula Spot Resist Complex is meant to replace the old SK-II Whitening Power Spots Specialist. The idea is to tackle spot formation beneath the skin. No doubt after learning this, I know this will be something that's not visible to the naked. Dotting on my visible dark spot (there's one on my nose) won't work because it's not meant to break down your formed dark spots, it helps to prevent spots from forming and surfacing. So it's really hard for me to fall in love with this product. Additionally, I feel it dries my skin out a little. So I stopped using after 2 weeks and totally forget about it. Plus, I mainly only need to use one essence at a time, so maybe in the near future I would give this ago again.

Price: 30ml - RM470 | 50ml - RM685 | 75ml - RM920

Magic Ring Test Results

I kid you not, I feel like such a winner with my fist held up high after seeing this results. It's amazing that within 1.5 months my skin has improved quite drastically, especially the radiance and the spot control section. Texture part, well it's really due to female hormones too, time of the month and not time of the month makes a whole lot of difference when it comes to skin texture. Familiar having your pores looking huge and skin rougher when your period is coming? Yup, I'm a woman facing that problem too.

How to measure hidden spots?
SK-II came up with a new feature with the Magic Ring. It's a program called "Cloud Meter", to show more UV signs of damage beyond visible and hidden spots. "Cloud areas" measure accumulated UV induced damage on the skin while "aura areas" measure the brightness of the skin. The bigger the "cloud area", the more damaged the skin is with visible and hidden spots. The bigger the "aura area" the brighter the skin is. Mine, as you see on the above picture show a pretty good result with my aura area being very wide in the chart. All thanks to proper maintenance and SK-II I believe!

Go get your Magic Ring skin test at the SK-II counter near you!

When Teh CHAM Lee... Almost Korean Drama.

YOU WILL WANT TO WATCH THIS! The long awaited video. A number of our friends have been asking to watch this particular video. If you are wondering, we took this video with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver on a fake but very useful gorilla tripod that I bought off Lazada Malaysia. It was all taken in one scene, no flip up screen and no checking for angles. We really had no idea how the final scene happened, looks like can pass as Korean drama. Everything was just so right without us knowing. It was a blessing.

It was truly just the perfect time and place, where it was just the two of us. We thank God for bringing us together and making us possible. Of course, we will definitely be making more videos as a couple, as #TehChamLee ! Do subscribe to get updates :D

If you are interested in the apartment for temporary stay, it is available on Haftarent (previously known as TrupCotel). You can check out my review and a full apartment tour here: http://bit.ly/1VFwheu

It's the second time Laneige have The Laneige Beauty Road in Malaysia. It's all about K-beauty trends and this year, along came a special appearance of Lee Sung-Kyung, a Korean celebrity actress, which honestly I have no idea who is she. I'm mostly excited about the whole introduction of the new Laneige Water Bank. The upgraded version of the Water Bank Gel Cream and Water Bank Moisture Cream were officially launched at the Laneige Beauty Road 2016.

The new upgraded Water Banks are infused with Hydro Ion Mineral Water and Moisturizing Biogene Technology. This reformulation now allows 360 moisturising care, leaving skin feeling plumped and well-moisturised with an, apparently proven 24-hour moisturising effect.

It cost RM150 per jar, along with that, customers are also eligible to purchase the Water Bank Limited Edition Water Bottle at only RM10 of which 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the water bottle will be donated to the Waterful Sharing Campaign fund.

Innisfree, Thank You For The Encouraging Words!

Taking a step up, innisfree totally made it in my list of beautifully packaged products that actually works. Well, okay maybe not all their products are fantastic. Before this, I have tried a couple of their skincare products and it was alright, it works fine but it wasn't anything that I would shout it over the rooftop. Their makeup products though, are magnificent. The colours are brilliant and overall worth the price.

Recently, they've sent me this Special Edition innisfree famous and No.1 Best-selling powder in celebration of the 10th Year Anniversary of No-Sebum Mineral Powder. It's available in an array of pastel colours and petite cases, expressing their gratitude to its fans.

The one that I got states 'You Are The Best'. When I received this, I was in the midst of so much workload, specifically carrying the weight of "I Need To Finish My Thesis Proposal And Presentation" was bogging me down, making me believe less in myself as I felt that I was slacking on my blog and youtube. This was a great reminder to tell myself I am awesome and this too shall pass. Sometimes, it's priorities. Just continue to believe in what I love doing and take a step at a time. Giving this as a gift definitely can help encourage and boost someone's confidence at that moment in whatever situation they are in.

The four other designs are Thank You, Good Luck, Best Friend Forever, and Dreams Come True.

I've tried this loose powder out for the very first time and I'm addicted. I'm always reaching for this, it's seriously that good. The powder is so smooth and fine, so far the best loose powder I've ever used. I love it! Other than it being so great to keep your face from being an oil factory, it's a great dry shampoo, and antiperspirant too when you in need of a quick fix!

This gorgeous set will look so good on my work table in my new office. Coming soon in a few months time. :D The perfume diffuser thingy (0408) smells strongly like men's perfume. Not that I'm complaining, I don't mind the scent, it reminds me of my awesome fiancé!

As for the innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum is really popular for hydrating the skin. It's from a range that provides moisture from the vitality and concentrated nutrients of green tea leaves that are organically grown in innisfree's own green tea garden on the pristine island of Jeju. It's the no.1 Global Bestseller and most beloved serum by Korean women for a reason. It's also known as "3-second hydration serum", applied immediately after cleansing to help seal moisture within the skin from the first drop. It claims to have 5x better moisturising power due to the fact that the green tea leaves contain amino acids and minerals to keep the skin moisturised from deep inside.

I don't know about you but this sounds pretty amazing and I'm definitely trying it out in June. Let's see if this will be featured in my June Favourite or not. Part of me is not quite sure about this because I've tried the Green Tea Seed Eye Cream and it didn't really do anything for me. I still have more than half in the pot that I'm most probably gonna use it as a moisturiser for my body.

Let's take a moment to enjoy how adorable this is. The bag and the product packaging is so cute! No doubt, I'm gonna use the bag, it only make sense. Plus, the travel kit is enough to bring along for a 2 weeks (if I'm going anywhere at all) for a skincare fanatic like me. I'll go gaga without packing at least a cleanser and a moisturiser along with me, I get paranoid with having my face feeling dry. It will just go bad, quickly.

Overall, innisfree is good for skincare beginners and amazing for makeup for everybody. You really don't need to go all the way to Korea to get this, it's not much cheaper anyway with the whole Malaysian Ringgit being so small. I've wrote a blogpost about this before. Check out my "Should You Buy Innisfree In Malaysia?" post here!

Thank you innisfree for the lovely products.
